I also offer coaching sessions in English, and in German to a certain extent (where my German lacks I can switch to English or Dutch and make a nice mixture of it).
The children and teenagers of expats for example; those who could do with some extra support while transitioning to life in the Netherlands.
Child coaching sessions can be helpful when your child struggles (even if you are not quite sure what with), or feels overwhelmed and/or unnerved. When your child experiences stress symptoms like headaches or stomachaches for example, or doesn't sleep well, maybe feels apathatic or wired, down, or left out.
I aim to offer a safe space where your child feels understood and can work on what is important to him or her. Together we can look for what would create a greater sense of space, clarity, and resilience for them.
I would be glad to be of help.
As an adolescent I babysat a two year old expat boy for a while; I also worked as an au pair in both England and Ireland, studied in England for a semester, and most recently lived in Berlin for a couple of years (after which I had to adjust to my own country again). Therefore I know the feeling.
I experienced the thrill of living abroad, the excitement of discovering your second (or so many'th) home, as well as the slight disorientation and stress that it brings along, like feelings of homesickness, loneliness, or overwhelm.
I can offer children, teens, and their parents a safe space, my full attention, tools, intuition, life experience, and knowledge and will be there for your child.
In sessions I use creative methods like talking through stuffed animals, drawing, or roleplay for example, or constellation puppets to make dynamics visible.
Child coaching is a goal-oriented approach to creating new experiences and solutions. The aim is to focus on the strengths and resources that are present within the child already, as well as the resources and options in their surroundings, to help them to feel more grounded and secure.
Please note that coaching differs from therapy in both the approach and methods used. I will be transparent in referring your child to a therapist if I think that would be more beneficial. In that sense coaching sessions can serve as a filter to clarify what is needed.
Let's bring your struggles out into the light!
Please feel free to get in touch to explore the possibilities.
I offer an orientating call of up to 15 minutes for free to see if child/teencoaching is a good solution in your case, and to discuss your specific needs and situation.
"You become. It takes a long time. Generally by the time you are real most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out, and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand" -
